What are the steps to building a website?
- Research your business:
- I learn about your business your industry and your customers.
- Write content for your website:
- I write content that articulates the value you deliver. This can apply to businesses or non-profits.
- For pictures and/or videos, I recommend hiring a professional. Otherwise we can license pictures.
- Design a website outline:
- We decide the pages you’ll include and how your information will be organized.
- Design the pages for your website with content:
- Your design and content come together in this draft.
- Test your website:
- I test the design with new users to learn what improvements need to happen before go-live.
- Testing how users interact with your website is the key to a successful design.
- Final revisions and approval:
- With the feedback gathered from testing, I make final revisions to improve usability. Then you’ll review the design and request final updates.
- Publish:
- Your new website is live on your domain.
What do I need to do to help you complete the website?
- You’ll go through some interviews with me to form a brand strategy for the website.
- You’ll review and approve the designs.
Do you write the content for the website?
- I write the content. I rely on you as my expert to tell me about your business, your industry and your customers.
How long will it take?
- It takes me about 8 weeks from interviews to publishing. That relies on good communication from you.

Do I own the website?
- You own your website, your domain and hosting plan. Whatever you decide to do with it going forward, I can’t stop you.
Can I update it after it’s built?
- I strongly recommend not making changes unless you know what you’re doing.
- If you want a blog, pictures or products that you can predictably update, I will build this capability into the website from the beginning.
- If there are changes you want to make down the road, you can hire me at an hourly rate to make them.
Is it a one-time fee or ongoing payments?
- My websites are a one-time fee.
- You do need to pay your hosting and domain fees to other companies to keep your website up. I will arrange these scheduled payments.

Do you offer SEO?
- I design websites with SEO in mind. After your website is build, I don’t make continuous SEO additions.
- If you want to write a blog for your SEO, I can build that feature into your website.
- To increase website visibility, I can manage your ads.
What tools do you use to build your site?
- I build on WordPress using the Bricks Builder theme.
Where do you host your sites?
- On SiteGround or TigetTech.net.
How is the speed of your websites?
- Very good.
Are your websites accessible?
- Yes. I make sure fonts and contrasts pass accessibility tests. I include alt-text for all relevant pictures.
Are your websites secure?
- Security comes from using strong passwords, and trusted, up-to-date software. I ensure these are taken care of on your website.
Can you build websites with eCommerce?
- I haven’t but that doesn’t mean I can’t. Reach out to tell me about your project and we can talk about what I can do for you.
Do you build the whole website or use contractors?
- I do not use contractors. My whole process is in-house.
- I recommend hiring a professional photographer/videographer for your website media.
I only need tweaks to my website. Can you help with this?
- No. I build websites from scratch.
